Fusion-SIL™
Fusion-SIL™ represents our understanding of the unique Facilitated Family Governance Model for Supported Independent Living (SIL). This approach empowers participants and their families to make the majority of operational decisions through a House Committee, where every participant and their representatives are members. As the Fusion-SIL™ operator, we handle the administrative aspects of SIL management and implement the decisions made by the House Committee, all while ensuring compliance with NDIS standards.
Fusion-SIL™ is our Facilitated Family Governance model for Supported Independent Living. You and your family make the everyday decisions through a House Committee — where the home is, the house rules, who provides support — while we handle the behind-the-scenes work of running an NDIS-compliant service. Maximum choice and control, without the paperwork.
Traditional SIL & SIL Co-ops
In a traditional SIL model, the provider runs a group home and is responsible for overseeing and managing it. This includes making decisions about staffing, scheduling, and policies. Sometimes, they also determine daily routines such as meal choices, shower times, and bedtimes. While this model alleviates much of the responsibility from families, it may be undesirable for those who wish to be more involved in their loved ones’ services.
In contrast, SIL-Cooperatives enable participants and their families to create a cooperative that functions under the Family Governance Model. In this setup, a cooperative company consisting of families takes full responsibility for managing and running the home’s logistics. This is a meticulous task, and not all families are prepared to undertake all the duties of running a group home.
Our Fusion-SIL™ Model
Our Fusion-SIL™ model combines the best of both worlds. Families and participants make all the operational decisions for their home, while we handle the intricacies of running an NDIS-compliant service.
The House Committee determines the location of the house, establishes house rules, oversees finances, selects staff and new participants, and the Fusion-SIL™ provider assists the House Committee with implementing these decisions in accordance with HR laws and NDIS practice standards.
This model offers participants and their families maximum choice and control without the hassle.
